Starting Over

Starting Over is an exploration of the idea of starting over and how that can mean so many different things to so many different people at so many different points in their life. Whether it be the birth of a baby, a divorce, a new job, moving, a car accident, a fire, or a death, one can find countless metaphors. One component of this project is a photo book in which the imagery evokes the feeling of starting over. Another is a series of post cards with photographs of front doors and poems alluding to moving. There is also an audio/visual component with five people telling their stories of starting over. The final component is a public interactive art installation. A 4’x8’ chalk board with the phrase “What does starting over mean to you?” written along the top was placed in Forsyth Square in Savannah, GA alongside a few chalk markers. Anyone walking by or in the square was invited to answer.
